Date set for launch of Infrastructure WA’s draft State Infrastructure Strategy

Infrastructure WA is pleased to announce the draft of Western Australia’s first 20-year State Infrastructure Strategy will be launched on Wednesday 21 July 2021

Infrastructure WA is pleased to announce the draft of Western Australia’s first 20-year State Infrastructure Strategy will be launched on Wednesday 21 July 2021 at Crown Perth.

The official launch of the Draft Strategy will take place at a lunch hosted by the Property Council of Australia.

It will be followed by a state-wide consultation program with the final strategy to be presented to Government early in 2022.

The development of WA’s first 20-year State Infrastructure Strategy follows the introduction of new legislation and the creation of Infrastructure WA in 2019.

Last year, despite COVID-19 restrictions, Infrastructure WA consulted extensively with the community, industry and state and local governments. Their submissions have informed the Draft Strategy to be released for final comment on 21 July.

While the details will not be revealed until the launch, it is understood the Draft Strategy has a particular focus on infrastructure demand management through early intervention, improving planning systems and pathways, and optimising existing assets.

Tickets to the launch event are available through the Property Council website.
