Infrastructure WA
Farewell message from the CEO
As the financial year draws to a close, so too does an important chapter for me as I step down as CEO of Infrastructure WA.
Guiding IWA as a fledgling organisation to become an established advisory body to Government has been both rewarding and challenging. I have taken many lessons from the experience, but most of all, I have been reminded that it is the people you share the journey with who matter most.
I have had the privilege of building relationships with stakeholders across government and industry as we worked together to shape WA’s infrastructure future. Conversations in boardrooms and over coffee have been a constant source of inspiration, and I am grateful for the support shown to me personally and to Infrastructure WA and its mission.
Working with a Board of executive leaders from the public and private sectors has been a great honour. I especially wish to thank the two Chairs that I worked alongside extensively during my time at IWA. Firstly, John Langoulant who was a fierce advocate for change and used his extensive networks to champion IWA’s cause and Nicole Lockwood who passionately strives for the best outcomes for WA and has an amazing ability to empower those around her along the way. It was an absolute privilege to learn from, and work with, both John and Nicole.
A good team makes a leader look good and I have certainly benefited from that. I want to acknowledge everyone who has been part of the IWA team. Your commitment and care have been central to delivering our objectives, and it has been a pleasure to work alongside you.
I wish all the best to IWA as it transitions to become the 2050 Commission. I look forward to witnessing its evolution under the expert guidance of the new Chairperson, Michael Schaper.
Farewell and thank you for the many kindnesses.
