IWA welcomes Ms Sonja O'Leary as new Acting Chief Executive Officer

Infrastructure WA is pleased to confirm the appointment of Ms Sonja O’Leary as Acting Chief Executive Officer for a one-year term commencing on 3 August 2026.

Currently the Assistant Director General State Services at Department of the Premier and Cabinet, Ms O’Leary brings more than 30 years of leadership experience across the Western Australian public sector. Throughout her career, she has led major reforms across the Public Sector, including leading WA's first Agency Capability Review Program for the Public Sector Commission.

Ms O’Leary’s ability to lead organisational change and deliver strategic priorities will support Infrastructure WA throughout the transition to the 2050 Commission. The Board looks forward to working with Ms O’Leary as they lead the organisation through its next phase and continue to support the State's long-term infrastructure priorities.

The Board would also like to acknowledge Kieron Hendicott for his leadership and contribution as Acting CEO in the interim period prior to Ms O’Leary’s commencement in the role.
